Already have a background check on your Coach passport?
If this is your first time getting background screening done for your MTO Membership – STOP-
Please refer to this page for details on how to get started.
As you know, background checks need to be updated annually. But you may not need to redo a VSV if you already have it on file with MTO.
How do you know your VSV is on file?
Find your Coach Passport on the Coach Directory.
Click on your name on the Coach Directory to pull up your MTO Passport. It should say ‘On File’ next to the ‘Vulnerable Sector Verification’ section.
This means that you do not need to do another VSV when it comes time to renew your background check. You can do the Sterling’s E-PIC (enhanced police information check). This online background check is fast and affordable. Link to do that can be found here. This is the background check that you will get annually, instead of a VSV.
Clicking the link will take you to a page that looks like this:
Make sure to follow the instructions to complete your new online background check.
What if I never needed a Vulnerable Sector Verification?
If you were required to only do an E-PIC, then your passport will look something like this sample below. Notice that the ‘Vulnerable Sector Verification’ section says ‘E-PIC Only’. This means that no VSV was needed due to your date of birth. You can continue to get your annual E-PIC with MTO’s background check partner, Sterling Talent Solutions.
