The Provincial Tournament marks the first time that progression has been an integral factor to ‪Muay Thai‬ competition in ‪‎Ontario‬. ‪‎Athletes‬ competing in Muay Thai Ontario’s tournament will be able to compete again at Nationals\, and from there\, move on to represent Team Canada. \nWe look forward to everyone bringing their best to the ring. \n\nNovember 14th is where it starts. February 2016 is where it is decided. DESCRIPTION:Open to all participants of any level of knowledge\, Muay Thai Ontario is looking to build on its already talented team of judges and referees. Existing officials may attend at no cost in order to refresh their knowledge\, however\, time constraints will see that new officials will receive priority when it comes to hands on practice. \nThe seminar will involve a combination of live demonstrations\, video samples\, whiteboard and projector curriculum. Some of the highlights will be: \n\nAmateur Muaythai as it relates to competition in Ontario\, Canada and the World ;\nReferee\, Judge\, Timekeeper\, and Chief Official duties;\nEquipment and attire;\nPreparing each contest;\nRound and contest procedures;\nInteraction with the team of judges and medical staff;\nAthlete safety;\nIntermediate referee techniques – Pressing\, Inserting\, Separating\, Obstructing and Protecting;\nFoul procedures;\nMedical interruptions;\nEnding competition;\nScorecard analysis;\nScoring principles as well as Single Competition vs Tournament Judging;\nCrowd and environment control; and\nLegal consequences and MTO coverage.\n\nThis is a hands on seminar. SUMMARY:2016 IFMA Muaythai Youth World Championship
DESCRIPTION:An annual event\, the Youth World Championships are the Olympics of Muaythai\, the highest level of competition for amateur youth athletes across the globe. The 2016 IFMA Muaythai Youth World Championship will include all respective weight categories under the following Junior divisions: \n\nJunior 10-11\nJunior 12-13\nJunior 14-15\nJunior 16-17\n\nIn addition to the Muaythai World Championships\, IFMA is also holding both the Muay Boran Youth World Championship allowing 2 youth to perform a 30 second Wai Kru and 1.5 minute Muay Boran demonstration integrating the 8 weapons of Muaythai. Creative costumes are encouraged\, especially those of Muay Boran uniforms or traditional warrior outfits. Another category of competition will feature the Muay Aerobic Youth World Championship in which 2-3 performers will integrate the 8 weapons of Muaythai with a pop song\, showcasing physical skills\, fitness\, and creativity for the judges. Both the Muay Boran and Muay Aerobic Youth Championships will be open to 3 divisions: Under 10\, 10-12\, and 12-14 years of age. \nThe Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand in cooperation with the Toyral Thai Government will be the host of this important event\, which which will also include a conference on “Youth & Sport”.

DESCRIPTION:Muay Thai Ontario is proud to be working with Muaythai Canada in hosting the 2016 National Muaythai Championships here in Ontario. The 2016 National Championships marks the first ever Canadian Muaythai Championship open to all experiences of athlete. Athletes who place in the Championships will qualify for the National Team that will represent Canada at the 2016 Pan Am Championships in Lima Peru and the 2017 IFMA World Championships and Youth World Championships. \nWe are excited to see the progress that amateur Muaythai has been making worldwide and within our country\, and we look forward to welcoming all the provinces and territories in Toronto for a celebration of our sport. Ontario\, which held the 2015 Pan Am games\, has seen a renewed investment in its amateur sport system; hosting the 2016 National Muaythai Championships will mark an important step in moving Muaythai towards recognition with the Ministry of Tourism\, Culture\, and Sport. \nProceeds from the event will be reinvested back in to the National Team to assist with the travel\, training\, and accommodation expenses that put international competition out of reach for many. Each of us – with men and women joining forces – can be a leader within our own spheres of influence and take bold pragmatic action to accelerate gender parity. We can collectively help women advance and unleash the limitless potential offered to the world over. \nOntario features a wealth of female athletic and coaching talent\, with champions such as Ashley Nichols\, Candice Mitchell\, Janice Lyn\, and Taylor McClatchie having taken the world by storm. SHEfights provides a stage for the up and coming female athletes of Ontario to showcase their abilities while establishing a legacy for future athletes. As part of SHEfights\, a grant program will be established for young women who wish to train in muaythai but lack the resources\, opportunities\, or encouragement. \nGeneral Admission Seating is $30 in advance\, $40 at the door.
